Its enduring popularity is in large part due to the simplicity of the design. It features a zip front with stitched facing that extends into a shirt collar. A generous rib knit at the cuffs and hem maintain warmth while the press stud fastened pockets on the waist are deep, comfortable and practical.

The interior is fully lined with a quilted satin fabric that includes two more, leather trimmed pockets. One is a vertical, zipped pocket for additional security while the other is a felted wool patch pocket with Velcro fastening.
